Hi everyone! It’s been so long since I’ve sat down and written a post for you. I’ve been receiving so many advanced reading copies lately, and school’s about to end, so I’ve really been focusing on tests and spending time with family and friends. However, back in late April and during May, too, I’ve had SOME FREAKING AWESOME experiences, which may or not include meeting a bunch of awesome, best-selling authors, filming a YouTube video with a new book bestie, being featured on GirlsLife Magazine’s instagram, and more. Enjoy a little update about where I’ve been and be sure to leave a comment below telling me what you’ve been up to lately!
I met Jennifer Niven…
Jennifer and me after the signing!
Jennifer Niven, author of the best-selling novel and one of my favorite reads of all time, All the Bright Places, had a book event at my local Barnes & Noble. I got to listen to her personally read her favorite passages from All the Bright Places, ask her all sorts of questions about her book and the upcoming movie adaptation of it, listen to her words of wisdom on everything from writing to mental illness, and of course, take a picture! Jennifer was so sweet and down-to-earth, always engaging everyone around her with her beautiful words and sharing her experiences with readers. She is lovely, which is a word featured many times in All the Bright Places. Also, Jennifer dropped a bomb of an opportunity and a bundle of excitement on me that will become an announcement featured on Real Rad Reads very soon: just know this, the announcement is epic and life-changing, and an experience that I’m looking forward to very much.

Speaking of Naya….
The “Great Book Signing Event”
Our little “blogger booth”, featuring my signed copy of the 5th Wave by Rick Yancey, GirlScout stamps, our phones, and of course, name tags and books!
Some amazing contacts at Barnes & Noble invited both Naya and me to participate in a Girl Scout event in the store as “guest bloggers”. We got to chat with Girls Scouts, work our own booth, attend the signings of 5 amazing authors, and of course, run around Barnes & Noble like the book nerds we are. It was so amazing to meet another book lover, and Naya’s the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet. Thank you to Liza Nahas of B&N and the GirlScouts for inviting us to such a fun event, and for giving me an awesome fellow blogger/vlogger and friend.
We also got to meet & chat & laugh with those five spectacular authors mentioned above, which includes Trisha Leaver (author of The Secrets We Keep, Creed, & later this year, Sweet Madness), Shannon Lee Alexander (Love & Other Unknown Variables), Sharon Biggs Waller (A Mad, Wicked Folly) and Lisa Aldin (One of the Guys). These five amazing women kept the giggles going with their lovely banter, shared tips on writing, and made everyone fall in love with them and their books instantly as they answered questions and shared stories. I helped coordinate parts of this event, which has now become one of those “magical nights” you hold close when you’ve had a bad day or something doesn’t go right, since everything on that night was perfectly amazing.
Naya also filmed parts of this magical night, and you can check out snippets from the event and my little appearance during one of our silly times at Barnes & Noble with the video below. I really recommend you subscribe to Naya’s channel: her videos are all very heart-felt and well done, the books she reads rock, and her smile will make even the most grouchy person in the world smile. Be sure to check out the rest of her videos!
GirlsLife Magazine featured me!
I just wanted to take some time to thank GirlsLife magazine for regramming one of my pictures! It was so fun and unexpected, not to mention sweet! It was such an honor to even be mentioned on one of GL’s pages. Thanks again to the GL tea
That’s it! Thanks for reading my newsletter, and be sure to leave a comment below telling me what you’ve been up to lately.
