Hollywood history, mystery, murder, mayhem, and delicious romance collide in this unputdownable thriller from master storyteller Katie Alender.Willa is freaking out. It seems like she’s seeing things. Like a dead body in her swimming pool. Frantic messages on her walls. A reflection that is not her own. It’s almost as if someone — or something — is trying to send her a message.Meanwhile, a killer is stalking Los Angeles — a killer who reenacts famous movie murder scenes. Could Willa’s strange visions have to do with these unsolved murders? Or is she going crazy? And who can she confide in? There’s Marnie, her new friend who may not be totally trustworthy. And there’s Reed, who’s ridiculously handsome and seems to get Willa. There’s also Wyatt, who’s super smart but unhealthily obsessed with the Hollywood Killer. All Willa knows is, she has to confront the possible-ghost in her house, or she just might lose her mind . . . or her life.Acclaimed author Katie Alender puts an unforgettable twist on this spine-chilling tale of murder, mystery, mayhem — and the movies.

Famous Last Words was just plain fun and creeptastic! It was a quick read, but it still had some really tense scenes that delivered the scare factor perfectly. Willa saw and did some things that were pretty much crazy, and though she had a very tough past, she rose above it all and learned to trust and love herself and others; that was the driving factor that pushed her to keep fighting, even though she was left alone in a house with a psychotic killer.

Speaking of the psychotic killer, Katie Alender has true skills to write such a vicious and deceptive character! He is written so well that he seems like a character who seems genuinely innocent, maybe even sweet, and then you turn around he’s trying to murder someone. His twisted way of manipulating people and his sick way of killing so creatively made for an interesting character and a great mystery!

Willa was a great protagonist, brave and flawed. Her world was paranormal, with ghosts and murderers, but she held her own against it all. The plot was very well written, and I had fun following Willa as she solved the mystery, even though I had a few good guesses about who the killer was after a few chapters. I’m going to have to keep an eye on Katie Alender! Can’t wait to see what she writes next.

Final thoughts: If you like thrillers, with a bit of romance thrown in, Famous Last Words is for you! The characters are great, the plot it fun, and the climax of the book had me shivering in terror. A very enjoyable read.
